JAMIE ACHIEVES THE JUDO TREBLE
L.E junior judo player Jamie Spencer-Pickup recently achieved a massive junior judo milestone and accomplished the treble by winning the National Schools Judo competition for Trent College, this goes along with winning the Nationals and Midlands titles earlier this year.
Jamie’s conquest started with a massive hip throw 4 seconds into his first fight which left his opponent flat on his back. This set the bench mark for the future fights.
Into the semi finals, the contests started to get harder with neither competitor backing down. Jamie eventually won through with a last second throw for the 10 point score.
The final saw Jamie fighting an opponent he had fought in previous encounters, this made for the competition to be very technical, with both fighters not giving an inch. Jamie suddenly forced a huge counter move from a massive attack that his opponent started, fortunately this put the other boy flat on his back giving Jamie the fight with a 10 point score and win.
